TIME SKIP

After a very long journey the group finally reached their destination.

VRINDAVAN, THE LAND OF LOVE AND DEVOTION.

Everyone came out of the cars and were quietly standing next to each other, taking in the sacred and divine ambience of the place.

Avyuktta’s POV—

The moment my feet touched the sacramental and blessed land of Vrindavan, a wave of emotion enveloped me, like walking into a sacred dream where time stands still. It's as though the world around me has softened, its edges blurred by the purity of the place. The air carries the weight of devotion, mingled with the sweet fragrance of incense and blooming flowers.

Every breath I take feels deep, filled with something ancient and timeless. There’s the faint sound of temple bells in the distance, the soft murmur of chants, the rustling of marigolds, and the soft hum of the ever-present Yamuna River flowing gently. The feel, the pull of something spiritual in the air, as if the ground beneath our feet has absorbed centuries of prayers and longing. It’s a quiet hum, like the city itself is breathing with you. It's a place that slows your heartbeat and quietens your thoughts, a place where you can almost hear the distant echo of Krishna’s flute in the wind.

I turned to my right and there he was, standing right beside me. My hand, which he cradled in his as though it were a prized possession belonging only to him. He was looking and taking in the ethereal and holy surroundings, probably leaving behind all the thoughts that weighed on his shoulders and reminded him of his duties. He was looking so at peace, so angelic, so.....mine. To me he was not looking any less divine than the sacred place itself.

He looked so innocent as if my touch would burn his tranquility to ashes and as I tried to pull away my hand with the said thought in mind, he held it just as tightly, promising to never let go without uttering even a single word. His eyes met mine as he gently turned to look at me. I could not look away more like I could never look away even if I tried. My slow heartbeat picked up its pace as thoughts began to fill my mind just because of a small smile that he passed my way, and just as fast as it was gone, it was back again. The peace and tranquility. He was the only one who could shake up my world to the point of no return only for him to restore it with such ease.  As he returned to gaze at the beautiful city, a single thought took birth in my mind and pledged to never burnout.

‘ Yashveer— I am bound to you, to you, my soul bows. My heart is eternally yours, in faith and in love. In every lifetime, I will choose you—with unwavering devotion. You are the eternity my soul leans toward, and to you, I offer all that I am. ‘

POV end—

Her chain of thoughts were interrupted by none other than her mischievous brother-in-law, Aaryan. “ Arey bhabhi ji bas kariye, humare bhaiya ka kya haal kar diya hai aapne. Pure laal ho gaye hai wo toh. “He said a little loudly to gather the attention of the others.

“ Rukk tu tujhe mai abhi batata hu. Bhaiya ki bahot chinta ho rahi haina, abhi sara pyaar nikal deta hu. Idhaar aa.” Yashveer chased after Aaryan. The group was surrounded by playful chaos and laughter.

After all the fun and teasing, the group headed towards their hotel. There were a total of three rooms. The Sharma sisters took one room, Aaryan and Mridul took the second one and left Yashveer with one as he had some unfinished work that tagged along with him. With the hour slipping into stillness, they let the night cradle them in rest, leaving the sacred offerings for the dawn and to greet the beauty of Vrindavan with fresh eyes tomorrow.

An hour into their room after having dinner, a knock disturbed the activities in the room where the sisters resided for the tour. Avyuktta went ahead and opened the door. There he was with a smug grin on his face.

“ Bhabhi ji. “ said Aaryan as if a song with a bored Mridul by his side, who only passed a smile.

“ Devar ji. “ she responded with a soft smile.

“ Maaf kijiyega par thodi dikkat dene aaya hu. “

“ Maine inhe kaha tha ki bhabhi ko abhi p-pareshan na kare. “ Mridul faltered mid-sentence after Tripti, standing beside the bed behind Avyuktta, gave him a playful wink.

“ Arey dikkat ya pareshani ki koi baat nahi hai. Mai kaise help kar sakti hu aap dono ki “ she replied with a warm smile.

“ Bhaiya ne humse ye pendrive mangai hai toh ye aap zara jake unhe ye de aayengi? Please bhabhi ji. “ he pleaded with a slight tease in his voice.

Shyness crept over her, for she was aware of their intentions. With a soft nod, she let them pass into the room where her sisters sat, then turned and made her way towards his room. Her heart, swelling with a mix of nerves and longing. The door shut behind her as the brothers entered the room.

Alone now, she stood with her thoughts tangled around him, her grip tightening around the pendrive as if it were the only thing anchoring her. With her heart pounding loud and unsteady, she took her first step toward his room. Then came the second step, and the third…..until she stood before his door, her hand lingering in the air, caught between hesitation and longing.

Summoning her courage, she finally knocked. The soft scrape of a chair broke the silence, followed by steady footsteps nearing the door… and then, it opened—and there he stood—calm, composed, and perfect as ever, as if the night hadn’t touched him at all. His eyes widened at the sight of her standing outside his room at such a late hour. He swallowed, steadying himself before finding his voice to invite her in.

“ "Aap… yahan is waqt? Matlab, aap kabhi bhi aa sakti hain, lekin… kuch kaam tha mujhse?"

In his presence—the only place where she felt truly free—she rediscovered a forgotten part of herself, the ability to joke. A faint smile curved her lips as she teased softly, “Kyu? Hum bina kisi kaam ke sirf aapse milne nahi aa sakte?”

Words failed him for a moment. A faint, shy smile touched his lips as he quietly moved aside, letting her in without a sound. Once inside, they sat in a space woven with both awkwardness and ease—silence lingered, but their hearts were loud with unspoken words. Nothing moved, yet everything stirred within.

No words.Only silence, stretched like a delicate thread between them, held together by the rhythm of their beating hearts. Their hearts spoke in a quiet language, one only silence could understand. With quiet hands, she held out the pendrive toward him, her voice barely above a whisper, “Aapne ye pendrive mangayi thi.”
“Maine toh us gadhe—mera matlab, maine toh Aaryan se kaha tha…” he stumbled, catching himself just in time, softening his words under her gaze.

A smile formed, unhurried and real, as she gathered her courage, took his hand in hers, gently placing the device into his waiting palm. He gently set the pendrive beside his laptop, and then without a word, as if guided by something deeper, laid his hand in hers—where it had always belonged.
